BUILDING YOUTH BRIDGES: Houston experiences comeback year

In April and May, JPB’s school-year programs in Houston ended an impressive season of successful, in-person activities. The Interfaith Youth Houston program wrapped up a six-part series of service-projects, faith community visits, and dialogue events with a Ramadan Iftar at ILM Academy and the El-Farouq Mosque. Over 45 teens from Jewish and Christian faith communities joined their Muslim peers at ILM to learn about Islam, Ramadan, and share a festive meal. The Building Bridges program, which brings together Jewish, Christian and Muslim schools for interfaith learning, also offered a program for 125 middle school students. Both programs leverage the strength of existing partnerships as well as new ones! Thanks to all our program partners for a great comeback year: Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Houston Congregation for Reform Judaism, Christ the King Lutheran Church, ILM Academy, St. Cecilia Catholic School, and the Emery/Weiner School.
