The Church and interfaith encounter have a long and storied history in the world’s tenth smallest country of Malta, and the best way to see and learn about the Order’s historical impact in Malta is on Pilgrimage.

 

From Saturday, Nov. 1 – Sunday, Nov 9, 2025, Jerusalem Peacebuilders is hosting a Pilgrimage to Malta, including Valletta, the Three Cities, the Island of Gozo and the fortified towns along the way. Space is limited and the February deadline to reserve a place will be here before we know it.

 

What is Pilgrimage? Pilgrimage is a safe and practical life-changing way to connect with our God and the work of Jerusalem Peacebuilders. It is an invitation to renew our faith and our commitment to the power of cross-cultural encounter. Essential to our goals, each day will allow time for reflection, thanksgiving, and prayer.

 

Who will participate? Members of the JPB family (and their guest) who wish to deepen their faith and strengthen their commitments to interfaith peacebuilding. Another central goal of our Pilgrimage is to deepen friendships among participants, both during the day and while relaxing afterward.

Where will we stay? We stay in the famous Phoenicia Hotel in Valletta, adjacent to the Valletta’s ramparts. “A timeless classic reinvented for modern times,” the Phoenicia is surrounded by gorgeous, landscaped gardens in the little piece of paradise that is Malta. For over 75 years, the Phoenicia has been regarded as a national treasure, and enjoyed by locals and crowned heads of state alike. 

  

Who is leading the Pilgrimage? JPB Founding Director, The Rev. Canon Nicholas Porter. Fr. Nicholas is a longtime visitor to island.
